Suzlon Breaks Records with India’s Largest Wind Energy Order

Suzlon has secured India’s largest wind energy order, a 1,166 MW project from NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL), marking a major milestone in the country’s renewable energy sector. This project will see the installation of 370 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with a rated capacity of 3.15 MW each. The turbines will be set up across three sites in Gujarat, two of which are operated by NTPC Renewable Energy, while the third is a joint project between IndianOil and NTPC Green Energy.

This deal takes Suzlon’s cumulative order book to nearly 5 GW and strengthens its position as a leading player in India’s wind energy market. The wind power generated from this project is expected to serve approximately three million households, boosting India’s renewable energy capacity and supporting NTPC’s goal of adding 60 GW of renewable energy by 2032.
